kepek is an observational tool. It describes visible features on a scalp photo and offers gentle care suggestions. It is not a medical diagnosis and does not prescribe treatment.
If you have open sores, bleeding, pus, intense redness, pain or rapid hair loss on the scalp, or a complaint that has not resolved over time, see a dermatologist before using kepek.
What the system does
kepek is a machine-learning-assisted visual analysis tool. From the photo you upload, it identifies visible features (flaking, dryness, an oily look, density) and summarises them in plain consumer language.
What the system does not do
- It does not make clinical diagnoses: terms such as "seborrhoeic dermatitis", "psoriasis", "eczema", "fungal infection" or any other named condition are not used.
- It does not recommend medication. No prescription product is listed with a dose or usage instruction.
- It cannot detect urgent medical conditions. It cannot reliably evaluate rapid hair loss, open wounds or signs of infection.
Hedged language
kepek copy always uses careful phrasing: "may indicate", "could suggest", "may be worth evaluating". If you feel any observation reads too strongly, please report it to [email protected] — we treat that as a defect and fix it.
When to see a dermatologist
If any of the following applies to you, please see a dermatologist instead of waiting for a kepek report:
- Ongoing pain, tenderness or itching on the scalp
- Intense redness, a sensation of heat, or pus
- Heavy flaking that has lasted more than three weeks
- Rapid or patchy hair loss
- Unexplained sores on the scalp, or lesions that are not healing
- Immunosuppressant medication or a history of chronic skin disease
Product suggestions
The products we suggest are in the general personal-care category — shampoo, conditioner, serum, brushes and similar. They are not medication. They are not listed as treatments. Our product copy does not make claims such as "treats", "cures" or "rescues"; if you spot one, please let us know.
Age and special circumstances
kepek is intended for users aged 18 and over. Users under 18 may use the service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or live with a chronic skin condition, we recommend speaking to a clinician directly rather than relying on consumer care suggestions.

kepek.net is not liable for any medical decision that arises from your interpretation of a report. A report alone is not sufficient to build a treatment plan. The clinical decision always rests with a qualified physician.
